Ingredients for a Lemon Aioli Recipe.

Ingredients

  • Greek yogurt – provides a creamy base for the aioli.
  • Mayonnaise – provides a creamy base for the aioli with a little tanginess.
  • Lemon Juice – freshly squeezed is best. Not only does it add a punch of flavor but it also thins out the yogurt and mayo to make it more dippable.
  • Lemon Zest – intensifies the lemon flavor.
  • Garlic clove – finely grated for a tiny bit of heat.

Variations

  • Go low fat – instead of using full fat mayo and Greek yogurt, you can use reduced of low fat. Just keep in mind that it may slightly change the consistency and richness of the creamy base.
  • Make it spicy – like a little heat in your food? Add in a dash of spice with paprika, cayenne pepper, harissa or your other favorite spicy additions.
  • Add a little more protein – try using Skyr, an Icelandic yogurt, instead. It packs in more protein than Greek yogurt and is a little tangier.
