Holiday Popcorn with white chocolate is a staple in most homes during the festive season, and this recipe won’t disappoint you. Made in just 15 minutes and requiring only a few ingredients it is the perfect sweet treat to enjoy with your family, or gift it to friends!
Pop your kernels - Place a large pot on the stovetop on high heat and add your popcorn kernels and coconut oil. Remove from the heat as soon as popping subsides.
Separate out any unpoped kernels - The last thing you want is to crunch down on a hard kernel! Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl.
Prepare the white chocolate - In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate and about a tsp of coconut oil. Microwave on low or using the melt chocolate feature just until the chocolate chips look softened. Remove from microwave and stir to complete the melting process. White chocolate burns quickly if overheated so take it out early and stir.It will seem like the chocolate chips will never melt but keep stirring and the little heat that remains along with the warm coconut oil is all you need to melt the white chocolate and achieve the smooth consistency. If the chocolate really won’t melt after a few stirs, pop it back in but only for little bit more time to reheat slightly.
Drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn - Drizzle half of the white chocolate over the popcorn and sprinkle half the salt. Gently mix the mixture together. Drizzle the remaining chocolate and sprinkle with salt and mix again.
Add the sprinkles - Now toss your mixture in the M&Ms s and sprinkles!
Notes
