Fresh Espresso Martini with Kahlua

I have tasted hundreds of espresso martinis and not one of them comes close to my husband's. This espresso martini with Kahlua is sweet and bold with that silky layer of foam everyone wants. One sip and you'll understand why our friends always ask for a second round.

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz espresso, cooled
  • 1 oz Kahlua
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • 3 coffee beans (optional if you dare - see post for more)

Instructions

  • Make the espresso and let it cool.
  • Add ice cubes to a coupe or martini glass and set aside for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add all of the ingredients except for the beans to a cocktail shaker, along with a large handful of ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 1 minute.
  • Toss the ice out of the glass and pour the shaken espresso martini into the chilled glass. Top with the 3 coffee beans and serve.
