Apple Cider Mimosas are the perfect cocktail for a fall celebration. Light, refreshing and rimmed with brown sugar and cinnamon this Apple Cider Cocktail is sure to be a hit at Thanksgiving dinner or any holiday party!
These Apple Cider Mimosas scream fall is finally here and that means the holiday party season is just getting started. Apple Cider is a favourite in my area because we have so many apple orchards in the Niagra Region it is easy to find fresh apple cider almost anywhere. There isn’t an apple drink or apple recipe I am not in love with. Apples are just so darn great. Crunchy, sweet or sour, filling… they literally can be used in almost any recipe with a little imagination.
And since sparkling wine and the holiday season go hand in hand so it only seems obvious that there need to be some fall cocktails with apple to kick off the season. So I got to thinking what if I added the fresh apple cider I had to some Prosecco I have been saving. Well, let me tell you. Magic … Magic is what happened!
How To Make Apple Cider Mimosas
This Apple Cider Cocktail is made with just two core ingredients. One part apple cider to 3 parts Prosecco. You can also use sparkling wine or champagne if you prefer. I recommend using Prosecco if you can because this type of sparkling wine which originates from Italy tends to be a little more fruit-forward. Prosecco typically showcases a flavour profile of apples, pears and other stone fruits which is why it complements the apple cider in this fall cocktail perfectly.
To make this fall cocktail even more special I rimmed the glass with one part each of brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon. Mix sugar and spice in a small bowl or shallow plate. Moisten the rim of the glass with some cider and then dip into the cinnamon spice mixture to create a pretty rim that adds just a hint of spice and sweetness.
Don’t have a tonne of champagne flutes in your cupboard? The grocery stores or dollar stores often carry packs of reusable plastic champagne flutes perfect for parties.
